Lancair IV-P Turbine Construction

This Lancair IV-P was originally fitted with a TSIO-550E engine, and the owner had asked AirCrafters to complete the aircraft and modify it to accept a Walter 601-E turboprop engine.

AirCrafters has completed the airframe modifications to Lee Behel's Lancair IV-P, enabling it to accept the Walter 601-E turboprop engine. Since Lancair had not yet completed their turbine-conversion kit as of July 2001, they wanted the first customer-completed airframe incorporating their mods in order to validate the engine installation process. For this reason Lee decided to take his plane up to Redmond for the actual turbine installation.
